The Wisconsin Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Robert Gehrenbeck presents “The Voice of Joy,” a concert of sacred and secular music by Henry Purcell and Felix Mendelssohn in celebration of their anniversaries. The choir will be accompanied by Douglas Towne on archlute or theorbo.
Selections by Heitor Villa-Lobos and other Latin American composers, plus "Songs of Innocence" by Milwaukee native Earl George, based on poems by William Blake are also featured.
The concert is Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1904 Winnebago Street, Madison, WI. 53704.
