Opening June 12th and running for 3 weekends, Theatre in the Grove invites you to a hilarious evening (or day) of entertainment with Larry Shue’s ‘The Foreigner’. Set in a rural Georgia fishing lodge, the story revolves around two English guests, Charlie Baker and Staff Sergeant Froggy LeSueur. Being pathologically shy, Charlie pretends to understand no English. However, to his dismay and the audience’s delight, he soon finds himself engaged in many secrets and scandals discussed in front of him by the other visitors who simply won’t leave him alone. They include, a simpleton, a pregnant ex-debutante, an evil minister, a racist, and the lodge owner herself who is thrilled to have a real “non-English speaking Foreigner” staying at the lodge. Audiences of all ages will enjoy.
