TRIPTYCH - Three of San Diego's most respected singer-songwriters in one show playing together on one stage. March 6, 2010

eliteAudience and San Diego Folk Heritage presents TRIPTYCH, which is comprised of the celebrated triumvirate of Peggy Watson, David Beldock and Joe Rathburn.

Peggy Watson is recognized as one of San Diego's leading acousticsinger/songwriters, but she's also been embraced by the jazz and popworld as well. With a wide vocal range, her smooth, emotional voiceeffortlessly moves between contemporary folk stylings, smokey jazz, orpowerful pop ballads. She is the kind of songwriter/guitarist with adeft touch, who moves her audience from tears to laughter with herrelevant and touching songs.

David Beldock made a name for himself in the San Diego music scene as a member of the bands Bordertown, Gumbo Yaya, Wooden Angel, the Carol Ames Band and more recently, as 1/2 of Beldock & Watson. Musicians and fans alike know him for his tasty guitar work, lending his talents to a host of songwriters and bands, both on stage and on record. As a songwriter, his often insightful and/or witty lyrics are delivered over sweet melodies by such a warm voice that listeners might be reminded of James Taylor or Lyle Lovett.

Joe Rathburn's music should be placed in the genre called Positive Music. His tunes have purpose, and carry with them more than just chord changes, grooves, catchy melodies, and hooks for the sake of their cool factor. They speak to the heart and mind of the listener directly and uplift the soul in an instantly tangible way. Joe's also an incredible guitar player, whose nimble fretwork produces a melodic match to the emotions behind his lyrics.

This is not the first time that Beldock, Watson & Rathburn have shared a stage together under the name TRIPTYCH. In fact, these award-winning songwriters have shared stages with many notable local and national artists, and they've performed at numerous coffee houses, clubs, house concerts, festivals and concert series' across the country. But getting the 3 of them together doesn't happen often and we are very pleased to welcome them to our stage. This show promises an evening of incredible songs, played out with rich, emotion-filled vocals, great harmonies and stellar guitar work (did we mention how great these guys are on guitar?), performed by three very good friends who invite you to join them for an intimate evening of musical magic.
