'Trouble in Mind' centers around the struggle between Wiletta Mayer and the white director of the play she has landed the role as leading lady in. The play is set along the fault lines of the Civil Rights Movement and the discordance that exists between Wiletta and the director is a direct result of it. The play exposes and brings up the half truths we tell ourselves about race and progress in America.
