Poetry Night with Barry Barnes and Denise Low.

Barry's energetic poetry raps promote social justice, environmental awareness and political responsibility. He performs with a number of area bands and he recently had his first book of poetry published, We Sleep in a Burning House.

Denise is the current Kansas Poet Laureate. She has published ten books of poetry and essays and received awards from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Lannan Foundation, Kansas Arts Commission, Poetry Society of America, Roberts Foundation, The Newberry Library, and the Lawrence Arts Commission. It is an honor to have her read for the first time in this series.
