Workshop Information
Mentoring is challenging, fun and rewarding. Mentoring is a great way to serve your community, find
balance in your professional life and develop new skills that serve you in many ways. The workshop
will guide participants on how to set up a basic mentoring program in an existing setting or establish
their own mentoring practice. Participants will learn about the philosophy behind effective mentoring,
mentoring strategies, activities and resources. There will be hands-on activities, discussion, and
brainstorming. Join the growing profession of mentoring. You will love it!

Presenter Bio
Cindy Farnham, Master Mentor, CI, CT, EIPA 5, is a freelance interpreter, mentor and trainer. She has
been formally mentoring interpreters for seven years. Cindy has a private mentoring practice where she
assists interpreters pursuing certification and trains other interpreters to become professional mentors.
She completed the first cohort of the Master Mentor Program in 2002. She serves on the Board of
Directors of the Conference of Interpreter Trainers.
