The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music presents a concert by the Verge Ensemble on Thursday, February 24th at 8pm in Old Cabell Hall on UVA's historic lawn. The concert is free and open to the public.

The VERGE ensemble, the new music ensemble in residence at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC., will be in residence at the University for three days, working with the students and faculty of the McIntire Department of Music. This residency is made possible by a grant by the University of Virginia Arts Council.

Under the artistic direction of Steve Antosca, the VERGE ensemble explores new music, both acoustic and electroacoustic (computer) music. The Verge Ensemble has been presenting concerts of new music to Washington audiences for 35 years. Throughout its existence, the ensemble has pioneered the performance of works involving music and technology, and supported music by American women composers, Native American composers and the music of African-American composers.
