Voices of the Chincoteague takes a look back at the lives and experiences of the people of Greenbackville and Franklin City, both small towns on the mainland side of Chincoteague Bay. Authors Martha A. Burns and Linda S. Hartsock chronicle life in these small hard working villages. The two towns, separated by mere yards, co-existed through good times and bad and were closely connected with Chincoteague Island. Today Franklin City lies quiet while Greenbackville manages to not only hang on, but seems to have a future. Readers will enjoy the book not only for it's stories and photographs but also for the local history it contains.
