St. David’s Day will be celebrated with Welsh songs and hymns when the Welsh Society of Central New Jersey will present the North American Welsh Choir at a concert at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 90 South Main St. Cranbury, NJ, at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19th,
The audience will be encouraged to join in singing favorite Welsh songs.
The North American Welsh Choir, also known as Côr Cymry Gogledd America, is a community choir with a continental presence that seeks to reflect the North-American Welsh experience through music and song. Drawing on the rich musical heritage of Wales, the choir strives to create a new musical genre reflecting what it means to be both Welsh and North American. Saint David's Day is the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, and falls on March 1st each year.
Mari Morgan, recipient of the National Welsh-American Foundation's Welsh Heritage Medallion, is the choir’s Founder, Artistic Director and Conductor
