Over a career that spans thirty years, Valerie Fletcher has curated, published, and lectured extensively on American and European sculpture. Her scholarship features many of the artists represented in the Metropolitan loan. In What's Past is Prologue: Inaugurating Landmarks with the Metropolitan Sculptures, Fletcher introduces the Metropolitan sculptures and explains the art historical significance of these rare works.

Isn't it supposed to be "The Medium is the Message?" Although, a soothing backrub from Mr. McLuhan might be nice after a long day of work, I'm not sure this title is completely accurate. :)
