Whiskey and Frisky night at Urban Island! Headliners Whiskey and Women are a three-piece girl band of multi-instrumentalist, sweet wacko hellcats. They play Cajun, Appalachian, Blues, Punk Rock, and anything you can stamp your feet to while yelling “Aooooooo!”

The Frisky Frolics take the stage at 8:00. With a ukulele-driven program of such Tin Pan Alley-era classics as “Cake Eatin’ Man” and “My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes,” the quintet revels in the outdated, dusty gems from our grandparents’ 78 rpm record collections.

Opener Lea Grant’s piano-driven compositions are characterized by fantastically synesthetic lyrics, jazzy harmonic progressions, catchy melodies and above all, a gorgeous, crystal pure voice. Gourmet Rockstars will be serving burgers, grilled cheese, and beers from 5:00 on; no cover until 6:30.
