COMING TO GRIPS FOR QUEENS STRONGEST ARM!
32nd ANNUAL WHITE CASTLE 'QUEENSBORO' ARM WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS SET FOR SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2009

Floral Park, Queens, NY. August 26, 2009. Over 100 men and women will flex their muscles in an attempt to qualify for the year-end Empire State Arm Wrestling Finals as The New York Arm Wrestling Association presents the 32nd Annual White Castle 'Queensboro' Arm Wrestling Championships. The event will be held at the Queens County Farm Museum’s Annual County Fair on September 20, 2009 at 1 p.m... and the final matches begin at 3:30p.m. The Queens County Farm Museum is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Floral Park, NY 11004. Admission to the County Fair is $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children under twelve.
The proud sponsor of the Queensboro Arm Wrestling Championships is White Castle. There are 13 Amateur and Pro weight class categories and awards will be given to first, second and third place winners, who will also qualify for the Empire State Final to be held at the Port Authority Bus Terminal on November 12, 2009. Special MVP award trophies and cash prizes will be given to the Queens Strongest Arms, male and female. The New York 'Golden Arm' Series consists of up to six preliminary championships and a final. Qualifying events are held in each of the five NYC Boroughs, Long Island, and upstate New York.

Gene Camp the founder and president of the 32-year old New York Arm Wrestling Association (NYAWA) said, “The ‘Queensboro’ Arm Wrestling Championships is the oldest of all the Borough championships because the first official NYAWA event was held in Queens in 1977 at the old Sunnyside Gardens on Queens Blvd. in Sunnyside, Queens.” Camp continued, “The Queens championship is also one of the most exciting events of the NY Golden Arm Series because Queens has the best ranked arm wrestlers of the entire city.”

The NYAWA is a New York State registered not-for-profit organization which is dedicated to the promotion of Arm Wrestling in New York for more than three decades. During the NYAWA’s long history, it has worked closely with the City of New York Parks and Recreation, as well as with many sponsors, charities, civic and community organizations to present arm wrestling events for adults and children of all ages.
