White River Cherokee "Trail of Tears " Powwow at Star City Ranch, home of the Trail of Tears , the Old Wire Road, the Butterfield Stage Route.
Powwow April 24, 25, 26, 2009. Stomp Dance at 6 pm Friday until??
Sat. April 25- Gourd Dance starts at 2 pm- Supper break 5 pm-6:30pm- gourd dance, 6:30 to 7 pm. Grand Entry at 7 pm.
Sunday April 26,2009 Native American Worship service. Gourd Dance in the afternoon.
Lots of good food. Venison Chili, chili dogs, nachos, fry bread, famous Galena Days BBQ brisket sandwiches with potato salad. Soda pop, cookies, and more.
Bring the kids, and the old folks too. Bring lawn chairs too.
Lots of Native American vendors, with many types of Native American craft items.
From Butterfield, MO, take hwy U 71/2 miles. You will cross a big metal bridge, then the powwow will be on the left side of the road.
