Let's explore life in the world of ice and cold! What does a chipmunk do in its burrow? Does the woodchuck snore? Where are the ladybugs and salamanders hiding? We will start by reading Under the Snow by local author Melissa Stewart as we snuggle up by the fire. We'll meet one of the animals featured in the story, then go out exploring for those secret hiding places. - - All ages welcome; up to three children per adult. "Backpack babies" (under 12 months and carried in a backpack or sling) are welcome free of charge, but strollers are not appropriate for the terrain we will cover; please mention these participants when registering. The fee for children age 12-17 months is half the regular fee. Fees apply to all participants, both adults and children. - - - Things You Should Know: - - -Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary is a dynamic environment. Occasionally we may make programmatic changes to take advantage of new opportunities or to maintain the safety of the visitors and the animals we care for. - - -Children should be the age indicated by the start of each program. - - -Programs include time indoors, as well as outside, and will run rain or shine; please come dressed comfortably for our outdoor adventures! If your program is not mentioned, it will take place as scheduled. - - -In programs where there is a farm to food connection, snacks from the farm may be incorporated. Registration is required.
