A propos of our upcoming concert Soprani Virtuosi, we are presenting a demonstration of the difference and similarities of these two voices in the context of music written by women composers.
Internationally known opera singer, Robert Crowe, a 1995 National Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Competition will delight us with both flashy virtuosity and heart-rending pathos, recreating the musical world of the fabled castrati. Joining him will be rising star, Colombian soprano, Camilla Parias. Together they will summon Eros with their music, singing duets of 18th century composer Maria Antonia Walpurgis and 17th century composer Maria Nascimbeni and others.
La Donna Musicale’s director and visitor scholar, Laury Gutierrez, will lead the discussion and the ensemble in this special gathering.
