Almost one hundred years after women won the right to vote, the 2012 election will go down in history as a groundbreaking, glass-ceiling-smashing milestone for women. Female voters made a big impact, especially in swing states like Virginia. Women threw their support behind candidates who support women.
WOMEN MATTER. And we are powerful.
The purpose of this rally is to engage, educate and encourage everyone to be active advocates for women's rights and issues including ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment in Virginia, equal pay, voter rights, Medicaid expansion, women's healthcare, and reproductive rights. The hour- long rally will be followed by a march around the Capitol. Admission is free.
