Womyn Rock! Candace Roberts and Billie Burnor at Urban Island March 10, 2012

Urban Island Home Furnishings welcomes headliner Candace Roberts and Billie Burnor & the Bad Ass Boots for a wonderful evening of Womyn Rock! Billie Burnor and the Bad Ass Boots will open at 7:00 with an awesome set of country rock; Candace Roberts and her band will take the stage at 9:30 with a set of cabaret/alternative music.

Candace has recently released her whimsical debut album “Honeymoon for One” -- in a cotton-candy world of shimmering girl-group harmonies and clever cabaret, our heroine makes her way through a minefield of tubas, handbags and plentiful pork products.
Candace wrote and demoed these songs out of her bedroom eventually teaming up with beloved mentor/producer Bonnie Hayes. Drawing on cabaret, vaudeville, jazz, pop and rock, “Honeymoon for One” chronicles the artist’s odyssean-like attempts to fill the tank, only to realize ... the tank is already full!
