Woodenhead Vintners is located in the Russian River Valley. Nikolai Stez is the Woodenhead winemaker. Nik has been working at fermentation since he was a boy making the traditional Russian drink “kvas” (a fermented bread or fruit drink) that his immigrant parents taught him to make.

In college, he made wines for his biology and botany classes and starting making home wines in 1986. He worked for 17 years for Williams-Selyem, the famous “garage cult winery” that put Russian River Valley Pinot Noir on the map. His experience as an Assistant Winemaker there confirmed his life’s passion for wine.

Bistro Des Copains opened its doors in June of 2006. Dinner is served seven nights a week; 5:00 – 9:00. For more information or to reserve a seat for the Woodenhead Vintners Winemaker Dinner, call 707-874-2436 or go to www.bistrodescopains.com
