York Civil War Round Table June 16, 2010

York Daily Record editor and published author Jim McClure will explore York County's attitudes and views toward the American Civil War. Being so near the border to slave-state Maryland, York County's residents had decidedly mixed views on the war and on President Abraham Lincoln's administration and policies toward the Confederacy. Jim will examine the draft in York County, the volunteer troops raised in this area, and the influence of the area's culture on the war efforts.
