Young Performers Competition for musicians June 10, 2011

Join us for the 13th annual Johanna Meier Opera Theatre Institute. Starting off the performances will be the Young Performers Competition for musicians on Friday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m. in Meier Recital Hall at BHSU.

This competition will highlight the talented young men and women we have in our communities. Come and be a part of this celebration of the gifted youth we have in Spearfish and the surrounding communities.

Two categories, one for ages 9 - 14 and one for ages 15 - 20. Winners in each category will be awarded cash prizes. Entrants are required to perform one difficult memorized classical piece and will be judged on poise, stage presence, as well as musicianship.

This contest is sponsored by the Black Hills Johanna Meier Opera Theatre Institute. Judging is coordinated by Johanna Meier. Applications may be obtained by calling 605-642-6420 or Cami.Dohman@bhsu.edu. Participants must reside within 100 miles of Spearfish, SD.

Tickets at the door are $5.
