Be part of Indian River County’s most exciting new fundraiser, the Youth
Guidance Heli-Drop Ball Bash & BBQ, where $10,000 in Cash Prizes will
be given away! The event will be held Saturday, February 11, 4:30 to
10:00 p.m., at the Vero Beach Sports Village, 3901 26th Street, Vero
Beach. The fun starts with an entertaining kickball game between City &
County officials, followed by the much-anticipated dropping of 750
numbered golf balls from a helicopter on the field – the golf ball closest to
the target wins $5000! Second closest wins $2500, third closest wins
$1000 and $500 each for the 4th, 5th and 6th closest winners. (Prizes based
on the sale of 750 golf ball tickets.) The excitement continues with Bono’s
BBQ and live music from Crooked Creek. Golf balls are being sold for
$100 each or two for $150; each ball purchased includes one admission to
the event and a chance to win cash prizes. General admission tickets are
also being sold for $25 and include admission to the event without a chance
to win cash prizes. The kickball teams have had their first practice and are
gearing up for the friendly competition. The County Team players are:

The City Team players are: City of Vero Beach – Pilar Turner, Mayor; Jay
Kramer and Tracy Carroll, Council Members; Tammy Vock, City Clerk;
Wayne Coment, Acting City Attorney; Peggy Lyon, Assistant City
Attorney; Brian Conway, Police Captain; Rob Slezak, Recreation
Department Director. City of Sebastian – Jim Hill, Mayor; Bob McPartlan,
Council Member; Michelle Morris, Police Chief. City of Fellsmere –
Susan Adams, Mayor. The next practice will be held at Riley Field on
February 9, 5:15-6:15pm. Youth Guidance needs to sell 750 ‘Golf Balls’ to
reach their goal of netting $30,000 on this exciting new fundraiser.
Individuals in the community can help by becoming a ‘Chopper Champ’.
Each Chopper Champ will be given 10 Heli-Drop Golf Ball tickets to sell.
Interested persons can call the Youth Guidance office at 770-5040 to let
them know they want to sell tickets and Youth Guidance will mail them 10
tickets. For every 5 Golf Ball tickets supporters sell, they will receive a
complimentary general admission ticket (a $25 value) to the Heli-Drop Ball
Bash & BBQ. A special thanks to the city and county employees for
