Youth Guidance celebrated National Mentoring Month with their Mix, Match & Mingle event held on January 6 at the Boulevard Village and Tennis Club. King of the Hill tennis players and sponsors mingled with
mentors and potential mentors as they all learned the importance of being a “friend” to a child. The Mixer allowed current volunteers to share their mentee success stories with the hopes of recruiting individuals to the program. A ‘Match & Mingle’ game gave everyone the opportunity to have some fun as they got to know one another. Youth Guidance
introduced their new teen mentoring group as well as their community-based mentorships. The event also familiarized community members with Youth Guidance and their ever expanding programs, activities and
services they offer the clients. A Mentor Orientation Dinner will be held at the United Way Building, 1836 14th Avenue, Vero Beach, on Tuesday, January 18, from 5:30-7:00pm. If you think you might like to spend just two hours a week mentoring a Youth Guidance child, be sure to attend this orientation. There is no cost for the dinner but reservations are required. To make a reservation or find out more information about the Youth Guidance program, call Piper at 772-226-3092 or visit www.ircyouth.com.
